ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Media Control Center will manage all inbound transmission, outbound distribution and monitoring for all linear and digital platforms. This position works closely with Fox Sports, Entertainment, and News teams to innovate and test new distribution solutions. The Manager, Media Control Center is part of the Media Operations and Distribution team, which is responsible for delivering a high-quality viewer experience to millions of viewers across Fox networks, digital platforms, mobile applications, websites, and licensing partnerships. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Control Center Operation
• Manage all inbound contribution and outbound distribution activities
• Create process and procedures to ensure reliable transmission operation
• Actively engage and quickly escalate transmission outages, malfunctions, and technical issues
• Oversee the configuration and troubleshooting of all transmission systems to ensure maximum reliability
Collaboration & Partnerships
• Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery teams
• Help build new technology solutions together with the engineering team
• Partner with the Engineering Operations team to troubleshoot and resolve issues when things go awry
• Team up with other Media Operations teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Work closely with all business units and provides world class customer service support.
Performance Improvement
• Promote the use of data to make business decisions
• Track operations dashboards and constantly look for ways to make things works better, faster, and smoother
• Prioritize the use of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to motivate the team
People Management & Development
• Inspire a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies
• Sponsor career development programs to retain top talent
• Build and motivate high performing teams to deliver high quality products
• Facilitate an environment that fosters the development of all-star utility players
• Deliberately create and cross-train all-star teams of utility players who can work in different areas
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Experience managing teams
• Experience with media operations and technical transmission systems
• Technical knowledge of Media Supply Chain, Video on Demand (VOD), and Over the Top (OTT) Systems
• Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
• Ability to translate and communicate business requirements into operational and technical requirements
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• A Bachelor's Degree is awesome, but not required
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as 4K High Dynamic Range, and HDR10+ is a plus
• Knowledge of industry standards such as Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE)
