JOB DESCRIPTION

The team behind the #1 National Cable News Program at 8pm ET, Tucker Carlson Tonight, is looking for a dedicated & experienced Booking Producer to work on Team Tucker.

We strive for compelling and qualified guests who are experienced and knowledgeable in a wide range of areas, spanning the political, cultural, historical and current events realms, dependent on the top stories of the day. You must be able to work swiftly and efficiently under pressure. As a Booking Producer, you should not only have a strong handle on the themes and stories which are unique to the flagship primetime cable news program, Tucker Carlson Tonight, and who and how is best to cover those, but also generate new and ''out of the box'' ideas to contribute to bringing our audience what they depend on when tuning in: content and coverage of stories they won't find anywhere else. The perfect candidate must be well-read in all the major newspapers, podcasts, political blogs, and have at least an intermediate understanding of how government operates, and the implications of lawmakers' decisions. You should also be familiar with and have a good sense of the guests who would be well suited for our 2 streaming programs produced by the unit, Tucker Carlson Today and Tucker Carlson Originals.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understand and be able to effectively communicate a guest's point of view on relative topics
• Be able to identify when a guest would be, or would not be, the right ''fit'' for a story
• Conduct thorough research and compile well rounded pre-interviews
• Sift through past TV and print interviews to find relevant sound and perspective for our guests to react to
• Manage daily deadline turnarounds of a live-show, while also assisting in ensuring there is a healthy ''look ahead'' in terms of future bookings and in managing long-term bookings
• Strategize with your colleagues on best booking approaches
• Remain tuned in to the day's lead news stories, and be able to understand the interconnected nature of the news landscape
• Work well both independently and in a team environment
• Work in a fast-paced environment where changes happen minute to minute, hour by hour

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1-2 years of experience in television
• Extensive Rolodex and can book everyone from high-profile guests, celebrities and people at the center of major news stories
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong editorial judgement and newsgathering skills
• A passion for current events
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where changes happen minute to minute, hour by hour
• Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• A bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience
• Previous booking experience
