Job Description
What do LeBron James, Ryan Reynolds, Rob Gronkowski, and Stephen A. Smith all have in common? If your guess is that they have all been a part of our creative campaigns, then you would be correct. The writer position for ESPN Creative Studio, will write copy for cross-platform campaigns (TV, social and digital) featuring ESPN personalities, athletes, and some of Hollywood's biggest stars with a focus on branded content, amongst other things. We want a creative that can deliver big ideas that are award and PR worthy, to continue our group's legacy of winning: Emmys, Lions and Pencils.

Responsibilities include concepting and pitching your big ideas and scripts to various internal stakeholders as well as directly to clients. This role is responsible for creating high-quality work, as well as building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues across many different departments. In short, we are looking for a passionate, big idea person who has writing range, with a strong emphasis on comedy and can creatively problem solve in multitude of different ways.

Responsibilities:
• Develop innovative concepts, write copy and scripts for multimedia executions (TV, social and digital).
• Create premium integrations, sports promotional content and marketing content.
• Assist in the creative development process for graphics, music, editing and the overall tone of the campaign.
• Collaborate with other Creative Studio team members to ensure that all work is creatively superlative, accurate and true to the larger tonality of both the ESPN and client brands.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have an online creative portfolio consisting of writing examples.
• Must have a comedic background with multiple pieces of comedy in their portfolio.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a writer at an advertising agency or internal agency.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of sports.
• Strong knowledge of movies and pop culture.
• Proficient knowledge of content development for advertising and promotional spots, including script writing, and social media trends.
• Experience with creative development process with an understanding of advertising development and agency relationships.
• Excellent presentation skills.

• Strong understanding of the ESPN brand and the marketing position.
• Proven collaborator. Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a highly pressurized environment. Hold self and others to a quality, on-time delivery.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree from Ad School or similar Portfolio School.
