Job Description
The Traffic Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily broadcast playlist creation workflows, including log editing, commercial copy instructions and program scheduling validation. Responsibilities working closely with Ad Sales and Marketing and various groups to ensure all aspects of the playlist is clear and ready for broadcast prior to delivery to the Network Origination Center for distribution. This position is also responsible for conveying department standards, policies, and expectations to staff members in a manner consistent with the philosophy of department leaders. The manager is a vital link between business partners, Traffic upper management and staff and, as such, sets the pace and tone for their group. Therefore, the manager must be a leader who sets the example in work ethic, personality, ethics and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
• Manage commercial logs for accurate programming information, commercial content, product separation, advertiser separation and extensive editing for on-air broadcast.
• Supervise, train and delegate duties for the Commercial and Log Administration staff.
• Support the Sales, Promotions, and Programming teams and create a work environment which motivates employees to contribute to their full potential.
• Assist in the development, implementation, review and enforcement of written department procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize errors and revenue loss.
• Assess staff workloads and redistribute duties as necessary.
• Closely monitor performance of all direct reports and keep a keen eye on employee engagement.
• Perform Day of Air changes when necessary.
• Analyze impact of late Sales orders and decide whether to accept orders into closed commercial logs.
• Work closely with station Sales Marketing team to ensure that complex sales packages and sponsorships are executed flawlessly.
• Effectively work with other team members and managers in a professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Initiate problem solving and make decisions to achieve success
• Positive attitude and willingness to continue to strengthen existing skills and learn new ones
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of traffic broadcast experience preferred or agency/broadcast experience
• Microsoft Excel experience a plus.

Required Education
• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Education
• Bachelor's degree preferred
