Job Description
This position is part of the college sports team of the ESPN TV Programming and Ad Sales Finance Group. The position will oversee specifically college football and college basketball, inclusive of live events and studio shows. Will be accountable for the ad sales, sublicense revenue, various expense line items and overall consolidated TV P&L for all ESPN networks as well as ABC Sports for the respective college sports. This position will work closely with various DMED Groups and ESPN Content teams in preparing strategic financial plans, including the long-range plan, annual budget and multiple forecasts. Further, this position will prepare and drive strategic P&L analyses that assess' college conference, sport and event performance.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare operating budgets, five year strategic plan, and quarterly forecasts for given property's ad sales revenue, sublicense revenue and various expense line items.
• Work with various business partners within ad sales, research, content, production financial services and controllers to properly budget revenue and costs. In addition, work closely with the college finance team who oversee college Olympic sports, the Owned Events business and specific college networks.
• Confirm assumptions and requirements for financial planning deliverables and be the key point of contact for this communication across multiple groups.
• Execute monthly/quarterly close deliverables in partnership with Controllers, to ensure accurate financial results and reporting. Provide detailed variance reporting and analysis comparing actuals vs. projections.
• Prepare on a weekly basis, detailed ad sales reporting and provide executive summary highlights to key business stakeholders and executives.
• Drive the execution & coordination of P&L analyses that examine current performance or any future proposed changes to the category. Demonstrate the ability to communicate P&L outcomes and key messages effectively to various levels and audiences across the ESPN organization, inclusive of any financial risks and opportunities.
• Participate in the planning and execution of new acquisitions as well as conference and/or sport contract renewals.
• Act as a strategic partner with business partners while ensuring adherence to ESPN policies and company financial goals.
• Utilize current technology systems available to provide insightful and detailed added value reporting.
• Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the current events and environment regarding the college sport landscape.

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a Corporate Finance or a business analytics role is required. Requires strong computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A proficiency in building and working with financial models is necessary. Candidate must be extremely detailed oriented, have strong organizational and multitasking skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and superior communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Cognos TM1, NCS and SAP a plus.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or business equivalent.
