Job Description
The Coordinator, Digital Media Programming will be responsible for the planning, daily execution and strategic scheduling of ESPN+ across all platforms. The Coordinator will support all content related planning, scheduling, operational and technical related processes, be responsible for daily QA of the offering, and coordinate across business units as needed with the focus of optimizing our content rights.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the strategic scheduling of content to maximize subscriber growth, viewership, value and revenue.
• Responsible for daily scheduling efforts of ESPN+
• Oversight of scheduling and maintenance of live event content, supporting all key points in the operational workflow
• Responsible for all scheduling of ESPN+ specific content
• Ensure timely and effective communication of programming information
• Compile and distribute schedules to communicate ESPN+ priorities to key stakeholders
• Serve as expert on ESPN+ scheduling software and related systems
• Oversight of onboarding and training process for digital scheduling across the Programming Department
• Monitor end-to-end testing of content and daily QA of the product
• Daily point of contact with all TWDC partners on all operational and product/technology optimizations and new processes
• Maintain strong understanding of content portfolio and manage communication of key content initiatives
• Ensure accurate representation of content offering and promotion of portfolio across Marketing, Product, and Editorial
• Facilitate internal collaboration with multiple departments including Affiliate, Operations, Transmission, Technology, Editorial, Product, and Marketing
• Prepare internal and external presentations in support of ESPN+ business
• Works as a member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall scheduling strategy for the company across platforms. Proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue to grow our businesses
Basic Qualifications:
• General knowledge of ESPN's digital platforms
• Basic knowledge and passion for emerging competitive digital video products and platforms.
• General knowledge of the sports media industry
• Strong overall sports knowledge
• Strong communication skills; highly organized and efficient person
• Motivated to work in a complex and high energy environment
• Proficient computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
• Work experience in the sports media industry, direct-to-consumer, television programming and/or sports league/team/college conference environment
• General familiarity with ESPN's scheduling system
• Practiced user of social media and new media platforms
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in communications, journalism, business, sports management or a related field.
