Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) brings the Company's best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DMED is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DMED also manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ HotStar, as well as domestic broadcast and cable television networks.

The DMED Technology Content Operations team is responsible for live studio operations, broadcast and transmission, network and production operations, content preparation, packaging, and distribution functions globally.

The Director is responsible for leading and directing the operations strategy for functions within the Network and Production Operations team, which include: Network Origination, Media Operations, Event and Studio Operations, Resource and Business Operations. This role is responsible for leading the successful end to end delivery of content for multiple content engines. This role also includes researching new technology and operations approaches, process improvement, and optimization to ensure teams are operating effectively and efficiently. Candidate must possess a strong knowledge of: operating standards and systems, multi-platform production equipment, signal flow and distribution, and the applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to engage in diversity and inclusion efforts around team building, resource planning, training, remote assignments, report writing, personnel and facility assignments.

Responsibilities:
• Through reporting managers and supervisors, oversees personnel and facilities in support of live studio and event productions; oversees a combination of domestic and international productions and the assignment of personnel and facilities.
• Recommends the procedures and processes related to supporting network and production operations, and oversees the development of standard operating procedures for all operating functions.
• Required to participate in the planning and development of new innovative operations approaches including but not limited to systems, workflow, workforce, and facilities.
• Responsible for long range planning of personnel and capital.
• Responsible for overall leadership and management of assigned teams including but not limited to; recruiting, compensation, performance management, communication and recognition.
• Leads the creation and implementation of training and development programs to improve the competency of the production operations staff; evaluates the progress of the staff in their training through reporting managers.
• Expected to direct or participate in special projects.
• Expected to be an effective communicator in collaboration with interdepartmental partners across the organization.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions with partner groups
• Understand and anticipate industry trends

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in business protocol and procurement techniques as well as in-depth research and development.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Production, Management or related fields; or relevant experience.
