The Designer position within the Animation Team is responsible for the creation, development and delivery of Animations at an intermediate level. This position provides motion and creative support for daily and long-range assignments, collaborates within teams and works independently on projects. This is a hands-on position requiring strong knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and some familiarity with Cinema 4D. Successful individuals in this position need strong conceptualization skills, are able to change direction easily, continually push their software skills and proactively communicate on all phases of an assignment to ensure the delivery of quality creative content across ESPN's linear and direct to consumer plaforms.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize After Effects, Photoshop, Cinema4D to create animations and designs for network programming.
• Translate assignment details and creative direction into custom visual solutions.
• Actively engineer animation projects with an eye towards efficient daily use and low render times.
• Proactively investigate scripting, AE Essential Graphics/MOGRT to streamline template animations.
• Maintain high standards of efficiency, consistency, accuracy, creativity and timely delivery of all requests.
• Must be highly motivated, work well under pressure, and able to effectively prioritize multiple assignments.
• Possess strong individual and team communication skills with the ability to take direction well.
• Display keen attention to detail, spelling and grammar.
• Adhere to all administrative responsibilities, including time entry and daily reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong hands-on knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and some familiarity with Cinema 4D.
• Online portfolio/demo reel showcasing your motion, design and type layout skills.
• Reliable work-from-home setup (personal laptop or desktop with reliable internet connection).
• Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays as assignments require.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years animation/design experience with After Effects/Cinema4D within media industry.
• Interest in sports and some familiarity with ESPN animation package identities.
