What You'll Do

Epic is looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join our team working on our upcoming collaboration with Disney. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of UE content creation with a focus on optimization. This person has experience combining artistic capability, creative thinking, and technical skills to ship cutting-edge content on a variety of target platforms, including mobile. They can navigate materials, PCG systems, and open-world problem spaces to streamline engine content creation and deliver performant environments. They should be able to communicate across disciplines to ensure the prototype's art requirements are met.

In this role, you will
• Work with the art teams to ensure all game content is optimized and tuned in UE to deliver the best experience on multiple platforms including mobile
• Profile content and propose technical and/or creative options to improve performance
• Create or collaborate on complex character, prop, and environment assets, in a range of visual to stylized
• Establish workflows and tools for other artists to utilize when making unique assets
• Prototype ideas using Blueprints and/or Python

What we're looking for
• In-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine (UE) content creation and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving abilities for profiling and improving content performance
• Effective communication skills for cross-discipline collaboration
• Experience working on multiple platforms (ideally including mobile)
• Proficiency in UE Blueprints and/or Python for prototyping and scripting
• Attention to detail to ensure polished, optimized content
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
• Strong organizational skills for managing tasks and meeting deadlines
• Passion for gaming and current industry trends
• Team player mentality with a focus on contributing to overall project success

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren't limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

New York City Base Pay Range

$189,482 — $315,803 USD

California Base Pay Range

$166,744 — $277,906 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$159,164 — $265,274 USD
