What you'll do

We are looking for a Lead Console Engineer to join the Fortnite technology group. You will be leading a tight-knit and highly motivated group of people supporting our engine and feature development across multiple platforms. In this role, you will
• Lead Fortnite to an industry leading position taking full advantage of a diverse range of platforms, developing bleeding-edge technologies to raise the bar of what's possible on modern consoles.
• Coordinate a group of highly skilled individuals across relevant supporting areas.
• Work with multiple teams to collaborate on and solve complex technical challenges.
• Optimize engineering and content workflows across Fortnite, making improvements to Fortnite's development and release process across teams.

What we're looking for
• Professional game or engine development experience with modern C++ knowledge.
• Deep technical understanding of console hardware and how best to optimize features and systems to take full advantage of available technology.
• Knowledge of and experience using relevant toolchains, build systems, development tools and platform APIs.
• Track record of leading development on tight schedules with complex technical requirements, ideally using the Unreal Engine.
• Area focus and experience of rendering systems or game optimization are a plus.
• Someone who is user-focused and solution-oriented, passionate, scrappy and innovative. These traits help drive success at Epic and influence everything we do.
