What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for an IT Manager to lead a growing team of 6-8 engineers and administrators in our Cloud Apps Engineering team. Reporting to the End User Engineering Director, this role will partner with both business and technology teams to ensure that technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives.
The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about practical problem solving, while also balancing the longer-term strategic needs of Epic Games. This leader will be comfortable working directly with stakeholders and business leaders to set expectations, commit to delivery timelines, and prioritize new initiatives.
This leader will also focus on team development, ensuring individuals in the team are engaged, giving & receiving feedback, and building a collaborative team culture. The ideal candidate will have evidence of success in sourcing and hiring diverse candidates, practicing candor and clear communication with direct reports, and growing the overall impact of their function through high-performing team members.
In this role, you will
• Lead the IT team responsible for SaaS tools including services critical to Epic such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian
• Provide support, leadership, and guidance to the 6-8 team members, ensuring they understand the team's priorities and the impact of their work
• Collaborate with Google and Slack product managers and strategists, Google technical support and outsourced vendor teams to evaluate and recommend new features/enhancements
• Partner closely with the Cloud Apps Producer (Scrum Master / PM) to review backlog items, prioritize projects/tasks, and ensure we are delivering on our commitments to the business
• Work with multiple teams for regular audits of enterprise SaaS applications such as Google Workspace and Slack in coordination with security and procurement teams
• Partner with Saas vendors to grow relationships, provide feedback, and discuss issues and opportunities
• Identify product gaps, create and implement new solutions and documentation
• Partner with other IT teams to evaluate, prioritize and resolve new issues & problem scenarios
• Partner with procurement to manage agreements for apps, prepare for renewals and identify opportunities
• Focus on strategy and vision for the team that leads us towards fully automating all workflows possible
What we're looking for
• 3+ years of experience managing an IT team in SaaSOps, Collaboration Tools, App Engineering, or similar
• 3+ years of experience as a SaaS application administrator or engineer
• Proven experience supporting enterprise communications tools such as Google Workspace or Slack
• Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to gather and translate requirements needed to build effective, sustainable solutions that align with overall business and IT objectives
• In-depth experience with public/private/hybrid cloud models, systems management, IT operations tools and best practices
• Strong technical communication skills, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with Agile work methodology
• VDI experience a bonus
