Job Description

Overview:

With creativity, tenaciousness and a commitment to excellence, you will be managing the day-to-day studio communications and publicity across original productions to support eOne’s global Television activity from development to launch – in addition to cross-functional publicity, marketing efforts, and production publicity. You will also be working closely with VP Marketing to inform and develop PR and Publicity to support International distribution and international launch opportunities.

Studio communications & publicity
• Working with production partners and broadcast partners in Canada, US, and global screening platforms around the world to champion strategic external communications related to original productions, with a focus on drafting and routing press releases for the following:
• Creative attachments
• Casting
• SOP
• Ratings
• Renewals
• Awards
• Developing high profile speaking and panel opportunities for the executive team in US and Canada, which complement ROW activity, to continue to build company profile and reach though active promotion of key productions and executives
• Ensuring communications strategy, key updates and issues management are informed by and communicated to all relevant stakeholders across Television
• Working in conjunction with domestic and international agency partners and internal teams, supporting the overall growth of the division by looking for opportunities to promote eOne series, executives and partners across the US, Canada, and globally
• Building, maintaining and circulating inspired TV overview materials for introductions to new partners

Integrated communications from development to launch
• Serving as a key point of contact with broadcast partners and production partners to maximize collaboration. Disseminating information to internal cross-functional teams as needed
• Supporting the implementation of marketing and publicity plans and projects for new and existing products including EPK production, gallery shoots, videography, digital advertising
• With a focus on North America, ensuring pointed social media activity while maximizing cross-pollination, integration and partner and talent support
• Leading award selection and submission activities for key properties
• Championing publicity and press activity around North American TV markets and festivals, ensure timely delivery of assets for conferences and panels
• Managing positioning to distinctly define eOne’s unscripted television units and create unique opportunities for key executives

Production Publicity
• Sourcing and managing unit publicist and unit photographers
• Working closely with internal production executives and representing publicity and marketing interests on set including engaging and informing unit publicist
• Supporting cross-functional ad hoc PR activity as required

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant work experience including experience leading a team and managing a budget
• Strong internal and external communications skills, both verbal and written, from 280 characters to long (long!) form materials
• Bachelor’s degree in media/communications/something entirely unrelated that makes you an interesting guest at a dinner party
• Strong knowledge and a keen interest in media sector
• Experience liaising with press and building relationships
• Excellent presentation skills and keen attention to detail
• Proactive and flexible approach to work
• Team player
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency in French considered an asset
