Position Summary:
As Manager, Finance Film Content, you will have financial responsibility for international features film sales (Sierra/Affinity), eOne Film production and development, and accountability for reporting including revenue recognition, accruals, production accounting, and analysis. Reporting into the Director, Finance Film Content you will be responsible for providing leadership to one direct report. You will work with various members of Operational and Finance teams to support the accurate reporting of Features and serve as a key member of the Finance Film/TV team.
Job Responsibilities:
• Review revenue recognition, accounting, analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, income statement reconciliations and related foreign exchange transactions
• Evaluate and interpret production structures to ensure best practices are followed
• Coordinate numerous Production company's month-end and year-end processes
• Manage revenue recognition criteria and reconcile balances for international features film sales (Sierra/Affinity)
• Oversee and prepare working paper schedules on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Manage and assist in preparing materials for external and internal audits
• Supervise and oversee various monthly analysis packs submitted to Group Finance
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and by title information
• Implement process improvements within areas of responsibility
• Actively involved in ensuring compliance with internal controls
• Accomplish tasks on time and take on special projects as needed
• Manage, train, coach, mentor, and supervise direct report
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and professional designation (CPA)
• Minimum 5 years accounting and reporting experience. Consolidations experience is required.
• Production accounting experience an asset
• Strong technical accounting skills; knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) and possess ability to navigate and use other web-based systems as necessary. Expert level Excel skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 an asset
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, multi-tasking and execution skills
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Ability to use initiative and take ownership of outlined responsibilities
• Able to thrive in a fast paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, simultaneously handling multiple projects
