Role Summary:
The role is an exciting opportunity to join the Family Brands finance team as an analyst to initially support the team through a variety of accounting, reporting and planning responsibilities and grow in the team to acquire increased responsibility over time.

The role will be critical to the team's delivery on a monthly and quarterly basis and will be ideal for an ambitious, talented individual that is eager to gain broad exposure to accounting and finance while continuing their finance education.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounting

The team has a responsibility to provide accurate, timely and informative financial information to the business and to leadership. We report results on a monthly basis in a format that provides context and information with which strategic decisions can be made. You will be expected to support as follows:
• Compile analysis in Excel to compare actual results against budget, forecast and prior year providing commentary on variances.
• Assemble consolidated management accounts from source financial information in multiple systems taking account of varying currencies and inter-company eliminations between the business units within the Family Brands division.
• Submission of business unit results in the consolidation system for relevant business units and reconcile submissions to supporting management packs.

Financial Accounting
• Process new contracts and amendments to ensure relevant financial information is extracted from deal agreements and contract management systems to support financial accounting.
• Support the senior analyst on revenue recognition for the content business in accordance with group accounting policy to include recognition of broadcast licensing deals and revenues generated from digital content platforms.
• Calculate revenue and commission recognition for the consumer products business maintained by eOne in accordance with group accounting policy and communicate results to the commercial finance leads, answering any queries raised.
• Post revenue journal entries for eOne brands to the accounting system and prepare documentation instructing journal entries to be made by Accounting Shared Services on Hasbro brands

Business Partnering
• Day to day contact with commercial teams providing analysis on an as needed basis to inform and influence sales team processes.
• Provide monthly updates on performance against plan as well as amounts to achieve against quarterly and annual targets in a clear, concise and easily digestible manner.

Financial Planning & Analysis
• Support the Senior Analyst on modelling 3-year revenue budgets and quarterly re-forecasts including extracting data from contract management systems and manipulating this data into a format that can support the commercial teams in bringing together their budget.
• Responsible for submissions of the budgets into the consolidation system ensuring submissions accurately reconcile to the budget models.

Additional
• Ad-hoc analysis and project work as required by the business.

Required Experience & Competencies
• Part-qualified on road to completion of relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT/ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Experience either in practice or industry as an accountant or audit professional
• Driven and highly accountable for own work product
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Eye for detail and precision
• Positive and team-oriented
