Junior Analyst (Costs)- 12 month FTC, Finance

eOne's Family Brands division is an exciting, fast growing team within the global Hasbro family that specialises in the development, production, distribution and brand management of kid's entertainment. Role Summary:
The role is an exciting opportunity to join the Family Brands finance team as an analyst to support the team through a variety of accounting, reporting and planning responsibilities initially for a fixed term of 12 months.

The role will be critical to the team's delivery on a monthly and quarterly basis and will be ideal for a talented individual that is eager to take on a role with responsibilities in reporting, accounting, planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounting

The team has a responsibility to provide accurate, timely and informative financial information to the business and to leadership. We report results on a monthly basis in a format that provides context and information with which strategic decisions can be made. You will be expected to support as follows:
• Compile analysis in Excel to compare actual results against budget, forecast and prior year providing commentary on variances.
• Assemble consolidated management accounts from source financial information in multiple systems taking account of varying currencies and inter-company eliminations between the business units within the Family Brands division.
• Submission of business unit results in the consolidation system for relevant business units and reconcile submissions to supporting management packs.

Financial Accounting
• Account for expenditure incurred in the Family Brands division including brand & marketing costs and staff and overhead costs.
• Analyse the cost base to ensure accurate accounting classification of costs as capital or operating expenses as well as owning computations and accounting of prepayments and accruals.
• Own the inter-company accounting process for the Family Brands division, a critical role in our complex multi-national business ensuring timeliness of recognition and accuracy in eliminations.
• Post journal entries for eOne brands to the accounting system and prepare documentation instructing journal entries to be made by Accounting Shared Services on Hasbro brands.

Business Partnering
• Day to day contact with brand and marketing teams providing analysis on an as needed basis to inform and influence their campaigns as well as demonstrate tracking against budgets.
• Provide weekly analysis of performance against plan amounts remaining to spend against quarterly and annual budgets in a clear, concise and easily digestible manner.
• Respond to queries raised by the business in terms of coding and recording spend against their budgets.

Financial Planning & Analysis
• Support the Senior Analyst in modelling 3-year expenditure budgets and quarterly re-forecasts including data manipulation into a format that can support the business in bringing together their budget.
• Responsible for submissions of the budgets into the consolidation system ensuring submissions accurately reconcile to the budget models.

Additional
• Ad-hoc analysis and project work as required by the business.

Required Experience & Competencies
• Experience of accounting in a large multi-national organisation with exposure to accounting for expenditure and inter-company preferred
• Driven and highly accountable for own work product
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Eye for detail and precision
