Web Developer

Job Description

The Web Developer will be responsible for supporting the company's digital initiatives and online presence across multiple platforms for multiple brands. This includes but is not limited to supporting B2B, B2C, microsites, learning management sites, and various other websites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Develop and review code using best practice engineering
• Convert wireframe and mockups into quality proof-of-concept
• Build efficient and reusable HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Identify and address site issues ranging from a design, functionality and performance standpoint
• Support company's digital initiatives and collaborate with others to ensure all platforms accommodate business needs
• Implement third party tools and integrations to enhance site features
• Temporary part time assignment (no benefits) for 3-6 months for 20-25 hours/week

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
• Expert knowledge of web technologies (HTML5/CSS/JS)
• Experience with a server-side scripting environment
• Native JavaScript programming as well as jQuery and Ajax
• Experience with XML, JSON and working with APIs and web services (REST/SOAP)
• Proficient in PHP programming and MySQL relational databases
• Experience with Linux / Apache / Windows Environments
• Knowledge in Object-Oriented practices and standards
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git, GitHub, svn)
• Experience with Tablet, Mobile, Small form-factor website design with a good understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Knowledge in Paid and Organic Search best practices
• Experience managing multi-language and multi-region websites
• Experience with managing internal web applications / intranets and training portals
• Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years backend web development (PHP, ASP, .NET)
• 5+ years frontend markup languages (JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, HTML5)
• 3+ years:
• Adobe Suite
• Shopify
• WordPress
• Google Analytics
