ASSISTANT - VIDEO

JOB PURPOSE
In this role, you will assist the Editor with various duties related to coordinating the video team and the outsourced services; filmmakers and audio-visual creative crew.
When not in the field assisting in covering events, you will be based in our Buenos Aires office at FC DIEZ MEDIA's video planning desk, assisting with efforts of scheduling interviews, sorting and filing incoming content.
It is also important that the Assistant maintain relations with external suppliers, press offices and clients whom they will contact on the Editor's behalf. This person may be asked to assist with scripting, producing, and editing, in order to deliver original content to broadcast standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist with filming and delivering original, high-quality footage with creativity, energy and skill from a range of South American football news events and competitions at the direction of the Video Editor.

• Assist in delivering original, high-quality scripts and produce pictures and graphics with creativity, energy and skill.
• Work in Breaking News scenarios, act as a source of referent on-site for Latam.
• Participate in internal planning sessions with all video, editorial and commercial desks as directed by the Editor.
• Build and maintain a proactive and collaborative relationship with in-house teams and understand technical and delivery aspects of online video.

Essential Requirements
• Trained video journalist for a minimum of 3 years, to assist the editorial planning with the coordination of diarized events, breaking news and bespoke content.
• Professional camera operator with 2+ years experience in the field, especially at major sporting competitions.
• Must have a keen eye for detail, be organized and be a multi-tasker.
• Should have a broad knowledge across a range of global sports, plus a strong understanding of the South American football media environment.
• Must have experience editing and voicing sports news and features to a broadcast standard. This person will need to be proficient in Adobe Premiere CC to a broadcast standard, in order to assist with the production of bespoke content.
• Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Should have a command of written and spoken Spanish and English.

Desirable Requirements
• Team player, but equally confident when working independently.
• To interpret ideas/stories in a way that demonstrates an understanding of news on all platforms.
• Able to take direction in high-pressure environments.
• Current experience of delivering voice reports to a broadcast standard is preferred.
