Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) is a subsidiary of Endeavor, the global sports and entertainment company. DBH was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through professional management, best practices, innovation, and investment.

DBH is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to help be responsible for all accounting and controllership aspects for DBH. The role will report directly to the head of Finance at DBH and other key stakeholders at Endeavor and support all the Teams that are owned and operated by DBH.

The ideal candidate is someone with prior experience working within the sports, media, or events industry, with experience developing and leading accounting procedures and policies uniformly within the organization and teams. The Controller will be involved in all aspects of the teams' financial management including corporate accounting, financial reporting, and the further development of internal controls and procedures. The candidate should also possess technical, and controls experience along with the adaptability, resilience to change and inter-personal skills necessary to thrive.

It is also expected that the candidate works to implement a single financial system across Minor League Baseball teams, standardize processes and identify operating efficiencies as DBH continues to grow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Day to day involvement of all the Teams related to controllership activities, including implementing internal controls
• Liaising with the Teams to manage, motivate, support, and train the finance staff to produce timely financial and accurate financial information, and creating world-class financial reporting processes
• Ensure month and year-end general ledger is accurate and closed in a timely manner in compliance with US GAAP
• Direct and monitor all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, receivables, payables, fixed assets, and financial reporting
• Identify the design and implementation of the necessary finance processes to support a more streamlined and automated finance process, including the subsequent transfer of transactional accounting for the various Teams to a more centralized processing
• Ensure timely reporting of all significant accounting transactions, implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos to support all accounting positions
• Interact frequently with the Teams and Corporate Accounting to support contract review and technical accounting implications
• Ensure accurate and timely actual financial data to support business decisions and ensure the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all regular and ad hoc management reports
• Direct and support on financial audits and commit to ensuring more efficient and less costly audits through continuous process improvements; Liaise regularly with external auditors and consultants
• Support teams on timely preparation and filing of all relevant statutory audit reports
• Develop processes and business partner relationships with internal and external groups that will improve the flow of financial information within the company
• Support and prepare FP&A reporting and support head of Finance on an adhoc basis

Qualifications
• Established and progressive experience in controllership and accounting (required) and GAAP expertise
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial closing, reporting, budgeting, etc.)
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) as well as Controller experience (publicly company experience preferred, not required)
• Relevant experience in sports, media, and entertainment industry (preferred, not required)
• Excellent technical skills and ability to write accounting memos
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize work
• Proven ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams
• Ability to operate in a high-paced environment (required)
• Knowledge and familiarity with various financial systems such as Oracle, Workday, SAP, QuickBooks, SAGE, MS Dynamics
