Job Description

WME seeks a talented and highly motivated lawyer to join its New York office as a Business Affairs Executive supporting WME's Theatre Department. Primary responsibilities include structuring, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of deals and agreements for playwrights, composer/lyricists, directors, choreographers, designers, rights holders, actors, and other clients in the creation and exploitation of live stage entertainment.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for personal services, content development, content licensing, and underlying rights in the theatre industry in a professional, time sensitive, and straightforward manner
• Manage and track all foreign theatrical licenses and related documents
• Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, contract administration, and document-management processes
• Accurately communicate internally with all agent representatives
• Perform other related duties and special projects as required

Qualifications:
• Admitted to the NY Bar
• 1-3 years of transactional legal/business affairs experience, at a firm or in-house
• Knowledge of and passion for the theatre industry, and ideally some familiarity with SDC, AEA, Dramatists Guild, and AFM agreements and rules
• Outstanding drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and able to interact with a range of personalities and styles in a fast-paced, high-volume business environment
• A curious mind, a strong work ethic, and a creative but practical approach to problem-solving
• An upbeat temperament, a dynamic personality, and a team-oriented approach to work
