Job Description
Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator

Department: Accounting

Position Summary: Manages accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.

Position Responsibilities
• Develops implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
• Provides accounting assistance to Directors, Managers and staff
• Responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
• Processes vendor invoices and employee expense reports
• Reconciles and codes America Express corporate purchasing card charges online
• Handles vendor questions and vendor account reconciliations
• Researches accounts payable issues with various department personnel and pull invoices
• Month end activities including self assessed sales/use tax and various account reconciliations
• Processes all student deposit returns from SMS, closing accounts and filing unclaimed property reports with various states
• Assigns and coordinates purchase orders with all department personnel
• Back up for night audit and student bank functions
• Local card manager for Chase prepaid debit card program
• Assist sport departments and business managers with accounts payable needs for tournaments including hotels, tournament entry fees, cash advances, etc.
• Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
• Experience in an AP function
• Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects
• Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
• A superior work ethic
• Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills
• Bilingual

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
• Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
• Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
