Accounts Assistant – Frieze Finance
Reporting to: Assistant Management Accountant - Events
Location: The Strand, London
Role
The role's primary focus is to manage the sales and purchase ledger process across the Events business, ensuring Accounts Receivable (AR) and credit control for these areas works efficiently and that the Events team is supported in managing the statutory requirements of 3 legal entities, assist with preparing management accounts and performing controls operations for these areas. The role will also support the Events Finance Manager & Assistant Accountant onsite at the UK fairs.
Key to your success will be effectively managing WNS, our outsource partner. WNS process payments, perform the data entry side role of AP / AR and prepare the bank recs. You will also need to develop close working relationships with the whole finance team, as well as interacting daily with the wider business
Key responsibilities:
• Managing the sales and purchase ledger process for three legal entities.
• Become finance super user of the CRM system, including assisting in workflow improvements of CRM SAP integration
• AR: responsible for billing, reconciliations, and credit control in coordination with outsourced transactional partner WNS
• Assist with US sales tax and VAT returns
• Assist with monthly accounts reconciliations and weekly bank reconciliations where WNS require assistance
• Process credit cards and assist on travel reporting
• Handling employee expenses
• Assists with SOX controls and other control requirements
• Assist with the preparation of payment runs for multiple entities and cash flow planning
• Assist with the preparation of internal business partner packs
• General daily accounting tasks to support the team
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Self-starter and quick learner with high attention to details/ability to spot errors
• Proactive in problem solving with a can-do attitude
• A confident communicator, able to interact with customers and vendors
• Confident using MS Office and intermediate user of MS Excel
• Minimum of Maths & English GCSE to grade C/5 or equivalent, A Level/equivalent education beneficial
• Experience of working in a finance team required. This includes credit control experience.
• Experience of using a finance system and/or CRM system beneficial
