Technical Director - Data Pipelines & Applications

As part of EADP, Data & AI team provides services and applications built around the wealth of data we acquire, process and deliver. While our amazing studios focus on making incredible games, we help them understand players through the lens of data and grow.

We are looking for a Technical Dev Lead / Architect to drive EA's Data Pipelines and Applications to the next level.

Job Expectations:
• Provide technical leadership and ongoing mentorship to the team with relevant latest technologies, strategic direction, internal road shows, external publications and patents etc.
• Be a passionate communicator and advocate for Data Services and Applications with partners and customers to see and use data as a strategic asset.
• Serve as Data engineering architect with solution mindset to drive technical/architectural decision making, build/buy assessments, development frameworks/coding standards etc.
• Help build scalable data pipelines and applications on multi-petabyte scale platform and ensure our projects use the best technologies, techniques and development practices.
• Collaborate with EA customers and partners with empathy to understand their needs and solve their problems.
• Work closely with cross functional teams like Data Platform, Big Data Analytics Engines, Data Integration tools, Schedulers, BI tools, Segmentation / Messaging / Recommendation platforms, etc.

Requirements:
• Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or software engineering related occupation.
• Alternatively, the employer will accept Ph.D. degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or software engineering related occupation.

Special Requirements: Position requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills:
• Computer science with strong competencies in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering / design.
• Strong background in large scale cloud native data systems with experience in industry leading products used in the data lifecycle.
• Focused experience in building, optimizing and scaling big data pipelines and applications integrated with metadata stores, scaling for large userbase.
• Hands on Software development experience, including clean reusable code, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
• Working with traditional and cloud native databases, including columnar, relational or document databases.
• Conversant in building pipelines and applications on AWS stack (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, Flink, Presto/Trino, Airflow, Redshift, Snowflake or other streaming/processing systems)
• Leading cross functional projects to deliver impactful customer experience with quantified ROI.

Preferred Location: Austin, Texas, United States. (Open to remote across North America)
