We're looking for an experienced Senior Technical Artist to join the Apex Legends team. We're picturing someone who will embrace our philosophy and share their hard earned expertise to collaborate with Art Direction and Creative Leads to help develop tools and support the team in creating this fast and immersive game. You are passionate about Technical art, problem-solving and experienced in workflow, tools and performance.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Artist (Sr TA) acts as a bridge between our artists, animators, project managers and software engineers. The main areas of responsibilities include art production workflows, tools & pipelines, asset optimization & integration, and artist support. Senior TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on the project and bring them to resolution. This often includes delegating to / mentoring more junior staff on the team. You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science background; but you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science. Senior Technical Artists report to the Lead Technical Artists.

Qualifications:
• At least 6+ years of cinematic/games production experience, and have completed more than 3 AAA games/movies.
• A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desirable.
• Effective at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
• Proficient scripting/programming in python and C#. (C++ is a bonus, but is not required).
• Expert knowledge of 2D and 3D art packages: Photoshop/Maya required. Houdini/Substance Designer is a bonus.
• A solutions-provider, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues.
• Enjoy helping staff across the team in technical issues.
• Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques.
• Experience in a live service environment.
• A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems. Thinks creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
