We have an exciting opportunity for a Tools Development QA Technician to join the team here in Birmingham. Operating directly within the development team and reporting to the Senior production team, you will test all internal tools during all phases of development to ensure that they are robust and fulfil the requirements specified by our partners.

Requirements:
• You will perform regular tests across all important tool sets to ensure that they are stable and usable by the team.
• You will test new feature updates to the tools against the requirements specified by the partners to ensure that they accomplish the agreed goals.
• You will test any tools required for upcoming phases of development to ensure that they are ready to be used by the development team.
• You will identify areas where testing processes can be improved to provide more coverage of the tools.
• You will help identify the cause of tools bugs reported by the development team through testing of reproduction steps, rebuilding of different change lists and generation of supporting debug output to assist the programming team.
• You will evaluate and maintain the backlog of support requests from the dev team.
• You will test all beta tools to ensure that they are functional before being supplied to the development team.
• You will work with developers to identify any additional bugs or workflow issues with the tools.

Qualifications:
• Understanding of source control tools (Perforce) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of Test & Issue Management systems (e.g. JIRA).
• Experience working in a similar role within the games industry.
• Patience and perseverance.
• Methodical and logical approach.
• Strong attention to detail.
• An enthusiasm for games.
