What the Data Scientist, Infrastructure Optimization will do at EA:

In the Infrastructure Optimization team, we are building a cross-functional team to tackle some of the most complex and exciting infrastructure capacity and cost management challenges to support player availability across our EA universe, drive infrastructure efficiency, and help support our sustainability goal.

As a Data Scientist, you will be involved in the product development life cycle from brainstorming ideas to designing quality interactive data visualizations that deal with data complexity with elegance. If you are someone who is passionate about transforming raw data into elegant data driven visualizations and has a vision for what an excellent data culture should be then you are in the right place. This role is located in North America.

Responsibilities
• Your work will generate tools and insights across the Infrastructure Cost management lifecycle to scale data sight creation, provide actionable cost optimization insights, and help automate our Infra Cost Management workflow by leveraging and integrating data analytics and DS tools. You will be integral to the Infra Optimization practices transformation - from ideation and research to launch and iteration.
• Design and develop data products around Infra Cost Management to improve forecast accuracy, reduce ad-hoc processes, and increase data-driven insights.
• Promote automation of repetitive tasks and the creation of tools over ad hoc analyses, making your insights available to anyone that can benefit from them.
• Provide Cost Optimization Automation & Analytics solutions by quickly gaining a deep understanding of the business and how data flows throughout the organization.
• Build close relationships with business stakeholders and act as a liaison between business users and data engineers to understand business issues and deliver scalable end-to-end solutions that ensure accurate business insights.
• Work with big data solutions, data modeling, understand the ETL pipelines and business intelligence solutions
• Maintain airflow pipelines, and backfill/fix data issues when needed
• Interface with other technology teams and business subject matter experts to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Science, Engineering, Economics, or in other related fields
• Good judgment balancing art and science when visually communicating information (Tableau, Superset, ggplot, D3)
• Advanced Proficiency in writing SQL queries and knowledge of cloud-based databases like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery or other big data solutions
• Proficiency with analytics programming languages (Python, R, etc.)
• Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing, preferably had setup/maintain Airflow jobs before
• A firm foundation in data analysis basics, including regression and classification models, experiment design, time series modeling, and hypothesis testing
• Experience developing and leading presentations to wide audience of diverse skill sets, including senior management
