The newly formed brand team for Electronic Arts is only six months into building our brand, so all of this is very new. That means we're still making it up as we go along. If you're a leader who is also a doer, and if you're looking for a challenge, this might be your gig. We will be totally honest, right now we all muck in on everything and it can be a little messy. But that's because you've caught us at the best time - the very beginning - how exciting is that? The Brand Identity Director will report directly to the Head of Brand, EA. You will oversee the brand ecosystem for EA. This will include:
• Evolve EA and all EA sub-brands, studio brands and product brands and the creation of new brands
• Simplify our brand architecture over time
• Modernize our logo and distinctive assets
• Migrate our brand ecosystem to serve new business needs and all other hero brand work
• You will partner closely with our brand strategy team and brand insights department and oversee a small team of brand designers.
• You will bring a strategic point of view to questions of brand language, naming, framing and more. This isn't just about look-and-feel or tone-of-voice, this is about how our brand lives and breathes in the world. We need someone who can set a vision and get down and dirty into the details.
• You will come from a design background yourself and will bring broader experience too. Your instincts will be your most valuable asset, as you'll become the guardian of the Electronic Arts brand. No pressure! You will also be kinda ego-less about the brand because the only way we can get this brand to live everywhere it should is to be great partners and to show up in service of the business.
What we're looking for:
• 10+ years of brand identity experience building in-house brands or at a design agency /consultancy
• Experience leading high profile rebrands
• Experience working across a complex brand portfolio
• Experience working closely with strategy
• Experience working with/ from data in partnership with strategy
• Examples of transforming a brand
• Experience leading a brand identity team
• Experience influencing parallel design teams to stay on-brand
• Point of view on both design and words
• Great collaborator who thrives working with others
• Strong opinions lightly held
• Outcome and output oriented - dare we say 'relentless'?
• Willing to get hands dirty

Day to day responsibilities:
• Sets the vision for the brand ecosystem and brand evolution
• Guides the evolution of the brand against strategic goals
• Oversees the design team working across EA brand and marcom on branding elements
• Collaborates across other identity teams to ensure brand identity is being used
• Consistently where needed
