Responsibilities
DreamWorks Animation Television is seeking a Visual Development Modeler - CG with a diverse set of skills to join our team on an unannounced CG feature-length project. The candidate should demonstrate a strong CG modeling and design foundation to execute on the creative vision of the series. This exciting new opportunity is based in Glendale, California and is covered by the Animation Guild.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Using 2D illustrations and designs generated by the Design team, create CG Design Models (sets, props, vehicles) that will be used as part of the Design packets that will be provided to partner studio
• Work closely with the Art Director and Production Designer to ensure the CG Design Models cover full intent of the vision of the Design
• Provide recommendations and suggestions for designs that adhere to the production's schedule
• Create orthographics for the CG Design Models from the CG file - including turns using existing approved designs
• Generate rough concepts to explore new designs within the style of the show
• When requested, create and present innovative ideas to enhance visual concepts and designs
• Superior eye and ability to translate a thorough understanding of composition and detail, and in some cases texture and lighting, into the CG Design Model
• UV and final render exploration on selected CG Design Assets, as needed
• Willingness to take feedback and rework material while maintaining a fresh perspective
• Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff and ensure all deadlines are met
• Ensure all artwork is properly backed up, organized and stored appropriately
• Work with Production to ensure all shipping materials are prepared and ready on time

Qualifications/Requirements
• Advanced knowledge of CG software (i.e. Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Modo)
• Thorough design foundation including knowledge of: architecture, perspective, and composition (lighting and color theory a plus)
• Proficient knowledge of Photoshop
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Is a team player, who genuinely enjoys working with others
• Strong time-management skills
• Works well in a fast paced production environment under pressure

Desired Characteristics
• At least 3 years of experience in television animation, feature animation and/or video games
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Portfolio that demonstrates seasoned CG Modeling skills
