Job Description

Responsibilities
The Line Producer drives the physical production of a series under the guidance of the VP of Physical Production and is responsible for the timely delivery of the TV series, while meeting creative and budgetary goals. This position is responsible for ensuring that the schedule, budget and scope are all aligned while managing studio directives and initiatives.

DreamWorks Animation Television has an exciting new opportunity for a Line Producer to join its team based in Glendale, California.

Primary Function:
• Partner with series' creative leadership to meet the creative goals
• Responsible for the master schedule and budget
• Manage complexity by discussing with core creative group options in order to organize and prioritize the creative goals and execution plans
• Enable and contribute to a culture that creates an environment where the crew can do their best work
• Manage, mentor, delegate and grow the Production Staff on the series

Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, Supervising Director and/or Art Director to create proven scenarios and schedules that accomplish creative and budgetary goals, and seek appropriate approvals from studio senior leadership
• Under the guidance of the VP of Physical Production ensure key creative leadership works well together and manage them towards reaching decisions and delivering on the creative goals of the show
• Under the guidance of the VP of Animation Production and the VP of Production, build and maintain an effective relationship with Partner Studio(s) built on mutual respect, open communication, collaboration and accountability
• Manage and drive daily communication, troubleshoot issues and potential delays with Partner Studio(s)
• Run relevant meetings to ensure clear communication, dissemination of information, acknowledge accomplishments and discuss challenges
• Under the guidance of the VP of Physical Production and the Production Accountant create and manage the overall show's budget and schedule, work closely with the VP of Physical Production and Production Accountant to ensure that the budget, schedules and staffing profiles are accurate and up to date
• On a weekly basis, work with the Production Accountant to ensure the cost report is accurate and timely
• Schedule and drive monthly Cost Report Meetings with the VP of Physical Production and Production Accounting
• Under the guidance of the VP of Physical Production, partner with Recruiting and Creative Talent Management and clearly communicate an overview of the staffing strategy and present the prioritized staffing needs of the series
• Drive the series' hiring managers to make timely yet thoughtful hiring decisions that ensure that the staffing of the crew is balanced to meet creative and production goals
• Advise the VP of Physical Production of any potential problems or issues, particularly those impacting schedule, and come prepared with strategic solutions
• Under the guidance of the VP of Physical Production collaborate with Development Executive and/or Executive in Charge to ensure they are integrated with the series' creative leadership and that the creative direction feels unified to the crew
• Strategize creative solutions to production challenges to ensure schedules are met
• Develop an approval workflow and ensure that the required work is reviewed by all relevant parties
• Invest and partner in series Production Manager and/or Production Supervisor to grow their management and production skillset to further support the crew
• Be transparent with the studio regarding pertinent issues and concerns with the crew and show leadership
• Ensure that the team culture is one of timely feedback (with both positive praise and constructive criticism)
• Foster an environment of collaboration and an environment where mistakes are an opportunity for growth
• When relevant and appropriate, convey studio initiatives to direct reports and the crew

Qualifications/Requirements
• Software requirements: Gmail suite, MS suite and shotgun
• Comprehensive knowledge of 2D animation production process, TV experience preferred
• Communicates clearly and ensures that the correct internal and external groups are provided timely updates
• Ability to work with remote crew and independent contractors
• Manage and drive multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times
• Previous experience with production budget management
• Work to and meet strict deadlines often under pressure
• Proactive and positive thinker, able to exercise good judgment
• Use discretion and maintain confidential information
• Owns tasks and drives through completion
• Effectively communicates with respect and consideration with studio employees and Partner Studio(s) at all levels
