Summary:

We are seeking a talented, and team-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to join our distributed (LA and Seattle) Watch team. This is an opportunity to collaborate with the very best in design, product and technology to help shape industry-leading products used by millions across the world.

Through excellent communication, organization, and experience with workflows pertaining to the watch experience, you will drive planning, managing and executing projects working with the Product Design team responsible for the foundational (core) platform experience. You will be responsible for supporting the Watch team members, managing communication with other teams & stakeholders, and facilitating design delivery. You have a deep understanding of Design processes and rituals with a keen ability to define design deliverables with designers.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Design Manager/Director on project organization, allocations, team welfare/health, status tracking, and successful deliveries; Accountable for driving execution and delivery of extraordinarily high-profile product or software development programs and work streams from start to finish.
• Identify and remove blockers to enable Designers to work productively toward project goals; Ability to drive problems to resolution by leading and driving the right conversations with stakeholders, applying decision making frameworks and data driven methodologies
• Organize and lead routine ceremonies for the health of both individual projects as well as the overall program, with a mindfulness to time zone differences and work/life balance
• Proactively ask and identify gaps or blockers prior to intake to ensure that the team has all the information and resources necessary to succeed; including dependencies, urgencies and a clear definition of success for outcomes/deliverables before starting a project
• Empower team members and develop relationships with designers on the team to lead to better communication across all projects and programs
• Energize and inspire the team, driving towards product and project success
• Have a big picture understanding of all projects and features within the program, their interdependencies with other parts of the product and designer knowledge and skill sets to strategically assist with resource planning; You are confident leading projects and groups to define and sell a coherent medium to long term vision, with milestones and short term actions to get there. You help build the department as a focus for wider company vision and strategy
• Ensure the team is delivering great design quickly, predictably, and with appropriately defined scope
• Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects/programs simultaneously on a global scale
• Track progress throughout the duration of a project (from definition to launch and beyond) with a mindfulness toward dependencies, and facilitate effective communication within and across teams
• Maintain documentation and dashboards that allow for quick and efficient understanding of resource capacity and project status
• Meet regularly with cross team business partners (Engineering/Product) to give/gather feedback on projects & drive performance forward

Basic Qualifications:

What to bring:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as Technical Program Manager
• Experience managing processes and workflows across a product design team; Has a solid understanding of UX/UI designs, e-commerce, timelines and creative solutions
• Authenticity and excellent relationship building and communication skills are must
• Experienced with working on projects with distributed teams, making use of technology and process to overcome the challenges of working with remote staff across multiple time zones
• Experience managing large teams on complex high-profile projects, and are viewed as the ''go-to'' individual
• Strong experience with JIRA and Confluence including tool administration, customization of issues/workflows/forms and attributes
• Comfortable in fast changing environments, with loose guidelines, fluctuating demands, building and managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to build project management systems and timelines, continuously improve those systems and use those systems to accomplish product design initiatives
• Strong communication and presentation skills; proven ability to effectively get buy-in at all levels and across cross-functional teams
• Experienced in planning for and effectively managing project risks
• Working knowledge of technology concepts including SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Builds strong relationships throughout the company and earns the trust of team members
• Excellent problem solving & conflict resolution skills; thrives when working with complexity; Cool, calm, and collected under pressure
• Strong listener: able to deeply understand the team's needs, ask the right questions to keep a project moving in the right direction, and proactively pursue feedback

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience within the ecommerce/subscriptions is highly desirable and strongly recommended

Additional Information:

The preferred hybrid location for this role is from our Santa Monica, CA office but open to individual willing to work out of our Seattle, WA and/or San Francisco, CA offices.

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
