QA Manager

Job Description

The Quality Organization is responsible for validating all work before it goes to production, this includes software: web, mobile, living room applications, media, non-consumer facing products and more. Additionally, the Quality Organization creates and maintains the framework used for automation testing at Disney Streaming.

The QA Manager will be responsible for delivering on routine and non-routine decisions around technical issues both by directing staff and individually. The QA Manager will be responsible for compiling project reporting for executive review. The QA Manager will provide team feedback and participates in employee review sessions. The QA Manager will provide career development resources and opportunities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in leading others, managing staff and an area of the department.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and drive continuous improvement, daily releases and test automation efforts.
• Work to grow team through recruiting, selecting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
• Work directly with QA Director/s to align with department and organization goals. Work closely with project owners and leads to fit in necessary resourcing based on project timelines.
• Provide quality reporting as needed/upon request as to the status of all overseen projects and employees
• Motivate employees and develop new ideas for process improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or a similar customer-centric technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience managing a team of 5+ professionals.
• Understanding of QA tools like Jira, X-ray (test case management system) or Charles Proxy experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding knowledge of productivity tools like Asana, Airtable or Smartsheet. Extensive knowledge of G Suite
• Some experience with project management, if applicable.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or greater in fields such as Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience.
