Job Description
The Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company's direct-to-consumer streaming services – ESPN+, the Disney+ streaming service and its ownership stake in Hulu -- alongside Disney's international media businesses, DMED aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.

DMED seeks a Publicity & Communications Coordinator to support executive communications and publicity communications for ABC Owned Television Stations (OTV) and directly providing support to the Director of Publicity and Communications.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and arrange executive calendar, including scheduling meetings.
• Shadow and participate in all key publicity meetings when needed; creating concise meeting notes with follow up details.
• Update DMED calendar with ABC OTV key events and announcements while also monitoring and distributing press coverage of OTV's documentaries and announcements.
• Maintain OTV Publicity Smart Sheets regularly to keep track of all press releases, campaigns and media placement
• Pull all media placements, clippings, and complete media coverage report from third party services (e.g. Cision, Muckrack) after each press release and provide to director of publicity/comms.
• Responsible for distribution of all press releases/blast distribution, breaking news, announcements and updating media lists, coordinate internal and external screenings
• Manage the DMED OTV Teams folders including updating OTV distribution media lists and internal distribution lists that receive OTV press releases and announcements.
• Assist with updating new OTV website.

Basic Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, as well as the prime social media platforms
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in corporate communications, or public/media relations
• Ability to write AP-Style press releases, media pitches and understand basic principles
• Organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
• Previous experience or work in the communications field and/or basic understanding of public/media relations, talent relations, technology and the entertainment industry.
• Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, prioritize deadlines and effectively work through challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Exhibits a positive attitude and a multi-tasking team player.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity and knowledge of content distributed by Disney and an appreciation for the brand a plus.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet is a plus.
• At least 2 years' professional experience in a corporate communications, media relations or public relations is a plus.

Required Education
• BA or BS required, preferably with a degree or emphasis in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field.
