Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) brings together the Company's best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DMED manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+ Hotstar and Star; as well as all domestic broadcast and cable television networks including ABC, Freeform, FX, Disney Channel, National Geographic and more. DMED is also responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines.
We are looking for a Community Engagement Program Manager to join our DMED Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications team. You'll be shaping and managing a long-term program that provides access to tech education, mentoring, and career exploration to middle, high school and college students from under-represented communities.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative thinker who has a successful track record of building and launching community engagement programs in tech-related fields. This position will work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders across Disney, nonprofit/community partners, and cross-functional teams. We are looking for a strong program manager who is excited to make a positive impact on our employees and community, while aligning to our business and CSR goals.
Responsibilities:
• Strategize, execute, and launch a comprehensive community engagement program that leverages technology to inspire a more inclusive world.
• Thoughtfully connect existing programs to a centralized DMED approach aligned with ESR objectives in a way that engages consumers.
• Oversee project timeline, clear and measurable goals / KPIs, and ensure all milestones are met leading up to and after launch.
• Develop strong relationships with key partners to drive project forward internally [across ESR, talent, legal, sales, content, marketing, and communications] and externally [non-Profits, colleges, high/middle schools, college prep, tours and volunteer efforts].
• Oversee team member responsible for driving and executing marketing / communications plans tied to the launch and sustainment of the program, while mobilizing broader team of business leads to drive all planning forward.
• Establish creative ways to communicate the impact and value of the initiative to all key constituents internally/externally
• Manage program budget, planning meetings, and any related logistical activity.
• Oversee processing and tracking of any related charitable contributions.
• Oversee internal and external CSR reporting initiatives, updates, and ongoing management.
• Vet charitable organizations to ensure they meet Disney's giving guidelines and align with Disney's CSR focus areas and brand impact priorities.
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of professional experience with demonstrated success in social impact/philanthropy/volunteerism in tech or entertainment industries
• Proven experience developing and executing effective social impact programs both internally and externally
• Prior experience in technology and/or entertainment industry
• Knowledge of communications channels and digital tools (intranets, social media, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision
• Ability to anticipate issues and take proactive efforts to problem solve
• Ability to pivot quickly when needed and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization
• Highly collaborative and open-minded
• Experience working effectively across a matrixed organization
• Solutions-oriented; you can think outside of the box to figure out a challenge
• Strong project and time management skills
• Competencies in Microsoft Office and Google suite, including presentation software
Required Education
• B.A. in Corporate Social Responsibility, Nonprofit Administration, or related field
