Job Description

The DSS design team is a growing practice of multi-disciplinary creators and storytellers. We are passionate about building high-quality, innovative and authentic experiences that connect people with the content they love. We work where art meets science, exploring ideas by using the power of design to make the invisible visible. We believe in doing things that matter, cultivating a culture of diverse perspectives and collaboration. We celebrate our wins, but never settle.
We're looking for a talented, and team-oriented Designer to join our Los Angeles, SF, or NYC based product design teams. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and will thrive upon the legacy of our company while embracing unconventional thinking. Above all we are seeking an individual who is passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company's direct-to-consumer experience through strategic hard-work and determination.
As a Product Designer for In-Service Creative, you'll create solutions for in-service art that contributes to the product user-experience. You will work closely with senior designers and creative managers in the In-Service Creative design team as well as related teams like Global Content Operations, the In-Home team, our International Acquisitions group, and Partner Platforms. You'll also work with the other designers on the team in reviewing in-service art packages and coordinating with our external agencies.

Responsibilities:
• Rapidly produce multiple artwork solutions sometimes conveying ideas using sketches, and other times quickly assembling high-value assets into mock-ups to gain approval from multiple stakeholders. All this, while instinctively knowing the proper level of detail to present to communicate your point of view while remaining optimally efficient.
• Collaborate with fellow designers to review artwork, organize work-streams across groups, and give feedback on designs prior to presentation.
• Generate design work plans for yourself; accurately estimate work items and communicate dependencies and issues as necessary.
• Communicate design decisions and specifications in a scalable and reproducible form.
• Work closely with the other critical pieces of the supply-chain organization that we are closely connected to - in order to streamline the overall artwork process

Basic Qualifications:
• 2-3 years experience designing artwork in a fast-paced technology environment.

○ Utilizing rapid prototyping and iterative design techniques.

○ Designing for multiple platforms and screens.

○ Informing and evangelizing the design process.
• Solid foundational design skills and sensibilities.
• Professional experience with digital media/entertainment and associated platforms (mobile, web, TV) is a significant advantage
• Experience in articulating conceptual and design decisions
• A love of television, film, and entertainment.
• Smart, conceptual, confident, competent, adaptable, proactive, and results-oriented.
• Earnest, mature, and ego-free. You welcome candid feedback, and can constructively give it as well.
• You have an innate passion for learning new software design technologies and trends.
• You can't stop yourself from sketching concepts,
or creating mock-ups to share and communicate your visual ideas.
• You embrace change and ambiguity as an opportunity for design to lead product development with new features and user goals.
• You're eager to solve complex workflow and product challenges with innovative ideas that are ''out of the box.''
