Model Designer Lead - Monsters At Work

Job Description

The Model Designer Leadwould ensure viability of assets returning from our partner studio, correctingany foreseeable technical issues while aligning them with the vision of the ArtDirector. Also, helping to oversee modeling/preparing of certain designs beforeshipping to better communicate with our partner studio the creative intent.

Responsibilities:
• Review and iterate modeled assets to improve designs and make sure assets are functional for production.
• Work closely with Art Director and Production Management to resolve design issues and deadlines.
• Ensure modeled assets are consistent with the look and style of the series, based on story elements, script descriptions and existing 2D designs.
• Create reference assets to help with production of the show.
• Work closely with production and design leadership to review models in a timely manner for partner studio feedback.
• Oversee preparation of all models for internal use and for shipment to partner studio.
• Adhere to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely production

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience leading artistic team to provide CG knowledge and guidance in order to maintain quality of show.
• Experience working with partner studios and a deep understanding of the modeling/rigging pipeline.
• Ability to align with style and sensibility of show.
• Ability to design and create a variety of CG characters, environments, and props in various styles.
• Knowledge of software that includes Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, ZBrush and other technology, where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal Engine preferred.

Required Education
• Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent work experience

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
