Job Description
We are looking for a Transmissions Engineering Manager to join our team in Amsterdam!
Our global Disney Streaming Transmissions Engineering Team provides a 24-hour operation, with tier 1 and tier 2 support for various broadcast systems in a diverse international environment.

What you'll do:
• Ensuring daily acquisition and distribution operational needs are met in a timely and consistent manner, with minimal supervision.
• Act as shift supervisor and provide daily oversight over Supervisors and Transmission Engineers, while keeping Transmission Engineering leadership informed of air critical information.
• Provide advance training on hardware, procedures and signal flows to those they supervise and interact with internal departments and outside service providers to plan for maintenance, events and departmental projects.
• Identifying and resolving operational errors and equipment failure while embracing new technologies and workflows.
• Assist in the development of training and educational documentation to ensure full team competency, and developing operational and technical guidelines and procedures for the department.
• People development is extremely important to us so you will help with staff scheduling, one-on-one meetings with staff, and annual reviews and guide the work of the team, engaging effectively and positively with others so as to lift the morale and spirits of the team while enhancing knowledge of the team as a whole.

Your background:
• 5+ years in Broadcast Engineering, Transmissions, Master Control or similar work environment in a leadership role
• Operational experience in live transmission/acquisition, master control or live streaming.
• Advanced knowledge of:
• MPEG and TS over IP.
• Transmission and acquisition equipment and systems.
• digital audio and video signals.
• Networking and TS Over IP principles.
• Experience with Evertz, Snell, Grass Valley, Ross, Ateme, Sencore and other leading manufacturers in routers, switchers and terminal gear.
• Understanding signal flows and CAD drawings.
• Some knowledge of elastic search and real-time analytics/visualizations.
• Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot effectively, communicate and identify workaround solutions quickly to restore live production signals.
• The position requires an understanding that critical outages can happen at any moment and you may be required to work on-call shifts to help resolve production-impacting issues.
