Disney Advertising Sales is responsible for advertising sales for The Walt Disney Company's entertainment and sports offerings through linear, digital, social and radio businesses. This includes ABC, ABC News, Disney Channels Worldwide, Disney Digital, ESPN Networks, Freeform, FX Networks, Hulu, National Geographic Networks and its eight ABC-owned local stations.

The Disney Advertising Sales team is seeking a Corporate Communications Manager to develop and lead media relations strategies to drive business results, including media relations, internal communications, speaking engagements, thought leadership initiatives, awards and more. Through effective storytelling and partnerships with key clients and internal stakeholders, this individual will position Disney Advertising Sales as a leader in the marketplace and elevate its innovative capabilities and solutions. This individual will demonstrate a strong understanding of corporate communications and experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will embrace opportunities to take on greater responsibilities and grow in the role. They will also be available to work nights and weekends at various publicity events.

This position is based in New York and will report to the head of communications for Disney Advertising Sales and work closely with the larger Communications team.

Responsibilities:
• Lead media relations strategies that tell the story of Disney Advertising Sales and elevate the business in the marketplace
• Develop key messaging that illustrates Disney Advertising Sales and its strategy, work, solutions and capabilities
• Lead the development of press materials and secure stories in media outlets, including key advertising trades
• Maintain critical relationships with media and serve as a key point of contact for internal departments, including but not limited to Sales, Sales Communications, network PR teams, Legal and HR Business Partners
• Partner closely with senior executives to devise strategies around speaking engagements, thought leadership opportunities and awards to promote and advance Disney Advertising Sales
• Liaise among teams across Disney Advertising Sales and advise on the organization's communications with clients and presence at events including upfronts and conferences
• Ensure that all publicity needs and goals are met in a timely and professional manner

Basic Qualifications:
• Advanced experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations or other relevant experience
• Strong understanding of the advertising business and professional experience in media, advertising, tech, digital or related industries
• Established relationships with media and trade outlets
• Strong organizational, written and verbal skills
• Self-motivated and proactive problem-solver
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), CisionPoint, Muck Rack and TVEyes
• Desire and commitment to accept increasingly greater challenges and responsibilities
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Capable of prioritizing projects and working both independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field, its equivalent or comparable professional experience
