Analyst - Business Planning & Development

Job Description

The Business Planning & Business Development team at Disney Streaming is a small and impactful team responsible for the strategic assessment, valuation, negotiations and partner management tied to distribution for the Disney Streaming Services (''DSS'') business lines (Disney+, ESPN+, NHL and Partner Platform Services). The team also partners with various stakeholders in setting the growth strategy associated with our products and technology platform, including assessing our addressable markets, and helping drive decisions on how we should prioritize our strategic focus, money and human capital allocation.

We are looking for strong analysts who are interested in translating data and insights to solve key business problems and drive successful partnerships. In addition to technical and analytical acumen (working with KPIs, investigating data trends, etc.), the Business Planning & Business Development team requires attention to detail, a strong sense of accountability, collaboration skills, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:
• Perform deep-dive data analyses to better understand growth trends and business performance across regions, products and partners
• Create informative and well-organized presentations that contribute to overall business needs and goals, explaining complex situations clearly and simply
• Monitor business performance data across products, partners and content
• Help develop case studies to share with internal partners and inform future initiatives
• Support negotiations with key partners by aiding in the creation of proposals, term sheets, and financial modeling
• Provide strategic analysis of and recommendations for Disney Streaming's relationships with strategic partners
• Focus on continuous process improvement through automation and increased efficiency
• Partner with the data and analytics organization to understand methodologies, contribute to roadmap planning, and understand all the nuances to our data
• Work with cross-functional teams in both strategy formulation as well as results delivery phases of projects
• Perform ad-hoc analysis into issues and questions raised by leadership to inform decision-making

Basic Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree
• 2+ years of work experience in a strategy, finance, or business development role
• Proficient in GSuite and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Self-driven with ability to work independently with limited day-to-day guidance
• Ability to manage multiple requests, stay organized, and prioritize deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in streaming industry or other subscription-based service
• Proficiency with SQL
• Familiarity with common reporting tools; Tableau and Looker preferred
