We are looking for a driven, creative, and entrepreneurial candidate with broad business, operations, and strategic planning experience to help grow Disney's DTC (e.g., Disney+) adoption in Canada. This role will report directly to the VP of DTC for Canada and is responsible for strategic assessment, business case development, and building the foundations for operational excellence in Canada. In addition, you will partner with various internal stakeholders in the US and around the world in setting the growth and distribution strategy associated with our products and technology platform, including assessing the Canadian market, how we should prioritize our strategic focus, money, and human capital allocation and our most efficient paths to execution. This role will also work with the Canadian Disney DTC leadership team to set the team's agenda and overall strategy in the market.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished strategy manager and a skilled cross-functional collaborator with experience in digital media and/or consumer-oriented internet services. The role requires a solid foundation in strategic analysis and the ability to rapidly synthesize complex information, lead group discussions and drive strategic alignment across multiple stakeholder groups. In addition, the candidate will need experience leading, growing, and elevating a robust team of individual contributors to have continuous influence and effective, meaningful cross-collaboration across the company. The team is a small and nimble group primarily executing projects set by the VP DTC Canada and the broader Disney Streaming Services leadership team, but where each member has ongoing ownership of a key part of the strategic plan. We value individual 'doers,' but with the seniority and maturity to interact with all decision-makers across the organization and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Canadian leadership team and US/Global stakeholders to define the strategic work agenda, ensuring each leader is effectively supported by the business planning and development function.
• Proactively identify and shape new strategic challenges to explore, ensuring the group stays several steps ahead with forward-looking views and clear points of view on the risks and opportunities facing our business, globally and in Canada.
• Identify and nurture talent in the team, with day-to-day coaching and development to ensure high-quality, efficient work output.
• Take a hands-on approach to ensure quality work product from the team that simplifies high levels of complexity for effective communication across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Manage effective partnerships with the other strategic planning groups across The Walt Disney Company to ensure critical insights are shared, and duplication of effort is minimized.
• Actively develop internal and external relationships to help advance group and overall company initiatives, including managing ongoing relationships with key accounts in collaboration with our sales distribution colleagues across The Walt Disney Company.
• Keep abreast of key industry trends and market conditions across all media (e.g., traditional, digital, social, mobile, etc.) in informing various opportunities.
• Direct the team's delivery of efficient industry and company analyses, including standard market size and share research, competitive analysis, and consumer trend information, on a global basis, from the team.
• Work with the VP DTC Canada to build an operational cadence for the Canadian DTC team incorporating insights from Data, Programming, Finance, Growth, etc.

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of management consulting experience with a specific focus on the media industry and digital technology
• Proven track record of developing strategic insights and highly effective communication materials that drive large scale business and operational outcomes
• International professional experience preferred, ideally with a multi-national media or technology organization
• A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environment
• A passion for identifying and nurturing talent, and leading teams
