Job Description
The Digital Marketing Strategist will support the Central Marketing Team and collaborate daily with the Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Disney+ Social & Digital Marketing Teams, as well as internal stakeholders to manage support requests across our greater network. The Strategist will work with stakeholders across The Walt Disney Company, strategize for amplification and support, work on key priority campaigns and initiatives for Disney+ and Studio partners, Disney Parks beats, Consumer Products campaigns, and more, and own a 360-degree view of the social landscape for all our handles as well as possess an understanding of all brands and franchise voices and KPIs. The Strategist will be the first point of contact and the last line of communication of final support for our partners, and work with our Insights team to make sure all support is meticulously tracked and recorded.
This role will also be responsible for the management and programming of vertical, film and franchise channel(s) which will include day-to-day copywriting (and editing), scheduling, monitoring, content planning, tagging, and communication with various stakeholders.
The right candidate is a critical thinker who is collaborative, creative, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of all digital platforms and current social media trends. The candidate should be proactive, a strong team player, able to adapt to new processes, meet deadlines, possess excellent copywriting and communication skills, and be capable of building meaningful relationships across The Walt Disney Company at various levels.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic social content review for placement within on our network, using knowledge of all core brands (Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Disney+) and their tone, voice and KPIs
• Relationship management: Liaise daily with relevant stakeholders across TWDC, including but not limited to Studio partners, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Ad Sales, Corporate, etc. for amplification and support of company priorities across pertinent channels
• Program content across certain vertical and franchise social channels (all platforms), tag for reporting; calendar planning, and asset management
• Occasionally ideate new social concepts for business unit partner priorities to engage and entertain digital audiences, leaning into applicable brand-safe trends, where appropriate
• Use data to drive programming and social content support strategies
• Route all requests to the necessary stakeholders for internal approvals and clearly communicate feedback to ensure content meets business standards, and relationships are maintained
• Work with the Insights team to track and confirm all social support for business unit partners to ensure accurate reporting to key stakeholders and exec leaders within DMED
• Manage support request form in Zendesk and/or Google Forms
Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in social/digital marketing, ideally working in an entertainment brand and/or streaming setting
• Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills
• Able to be nimble and adapt quickly to new technologies and processes
• Perpetual learner's attitude, always looking for ways to improve processes and learn and grow
• Passion, appreciation, and knowledge of Disney storytelling through its films and franchises, series, characters, and history
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite products, and Box
• Understanding of social media platforms required such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok, and YouTube
• Outstanding project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a strong work ethic and with strict adherence to confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and ability to use sound judgement
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote and Photoshop
• Previous experience with Smartsheets, and/or Zendesk a plus
• Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services a plus
• Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations a plus
Required Education
• AA or BA in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Admin or relevant degree
