Discovery, Inc. is searching for a VP, Technology in Bellevue, WA to join our team to build and manage products in our well loved lifestyle brands for consumers across mobile, tablet, connected TVs, and voice-based devices. Within this role you will support the creation, launch and the end-to-end technology leader for one of our key projects.

We are hiring a VP of Software Engineering - Consumer Auth and Identity, to join our team. As the leader of engineering leaders, you will focus on striking the right balance between frictionless and secure Customer-facing user management including authentication, registration, and personal data management. If you have a passion for full stack development, are interested in upcoming auth and security standards, and care about making it easier to secure data and applications of all different sizes and types, we'd love to talk to you!

• You live and breathe Operational Excellence. You are responsible for operating a critical service, and understand how to both meaningfully measure, and make improvements to availability.
• You will build and execute a strategy to meet critical business and security needs, and you will provide regular updates to senior leaders on your roadmaps, goals, and strategy.
• Build a strong team, hiring new resources as needed to enable team growth. Create individual employee development plans; cultivate career growth of team members
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes that drive velocity, adaptability & revenue. Ensure SDLC processes are in place to support rapid iteration and frequent deployments
• Drive an excellent customer experience, continually raising the bar on functionality, usability, and simplicity.

Requirements
• 10+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and launching software products and/or services.
• 5+ years of experience managing successful engineering teams including hiring and performance management.
• Programming & domain experience in client applications using a contemporary JavaScript framework including building SDKs (e.g. Angular, React, ReactNative).
• 5+ years of programming experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, Swift or other similar language
• Hands-on expertise in disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between.
• Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments. Hands on expertise with container platforms and cloud-native architectures
• Expertise in problem solving and delivery of large-scale application architecture, design, implementation and performance tuning; supporting over hundreds of millions of users.
• Familiarity and a knack to learn upcoming auth standards such as: SAML, FIDO, FIDO2, OAuth 2.0
• Experience in modern DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring & incident management
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $336,350.00 - $624,650.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
