Senior Accountant - Direct-To-Consumer

Job Description

Responsibilities
• Prepare day-to-day accounting duties and month end and quarter-end/year-end close activities in the revenue accounting area in compliance with established deadlines

• Perform Direct-to-Consumer revenue related preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Perform account analysis and compile reporting, as required

• Gain and maintain an understanding of Direct-to-Consumer revenue activities

• Assist with the building-out of processes/systems/reporting/tools to support the Direct-to-Consumer line of business

• Prepare revenue models according to customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with applicable pronouncements and company policies

• Perform revenue cut-off procedures as required to ensure revenue is properly and accurately recorded for the period

• Be an active participant in daily, monthly, and quarterly close activities

• Preparation of SOX controls and related documentation in areas of direct responsibility

• Provide complete and accurate data in support of budgets and forecasts

• Prepare data and reporting provided to internal and external audit upon request

• Cultivate strong internal partnerships within and outside finance at all levels

• Support business and department initiatives

• Comply with the Company's revenue recognition policies and practices

• Complete all work in a timely and accurate manner within established deadlines

• Perform other assignments/projects as required

Requirements
• BS/BA in Accounting and at least 2-4 years of experience in a related field
• CPA or path towards CPA
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint and PC skills
• Embrace continuous improvement mindset

• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and with agility
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong organizational skills and can prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines

• Legal right to work in the United States

It's a plus if you have:
• US GAAP (ASC 606) revenue accounting experience
• SAP and/or Blackline experience
• Public accounting firm experience, particularly at Big 4 or large regional firm
• Ability to understand and apply functional/technical and business knowledge to everyday work
• System implementation experience (business/accounting process design, user acceptance testing)
• Media and/or technology experience
• Desire to learn/accept new or unfamiliar tasks
• Ability to work in fast-paced & ever-changing environment under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent situations
• Client/customer focused mentality
• Desire to learn beyond daily job responsibilities/expand skillset
