Position Title: Production Assistant

Reports to: Factual and L&E Heads of Production & Development
The role will support the Factual and the Lifestyle & Entertainment Production and Development teams, led by two commissioning VPs, and will be working within a fast paced and creative environment. The role requires strong interest in working in non scripted content, be engaged and organised, and have a willingness and flexibility to embrace a wide range of duties.
Responsibilities
• The production assistant role is to support production, to manage production and development slates, which involves working on PPT presentations, writing editorial copy and summaries, uploading and cutting clips, liaising with the P&D teams on editorial and production needs, managing ideas flow and folders, as well as managing diaries and meetings as part of the role. Specifically:
• Putting together presentations, including cutting clips, for internal and external use, with demonstratable knowledge of basic editing software.
• Put together creative and research documents as required by team heads.
• Devising and managing the production and development trackers for Factual and L&E, which evolve constantly and are key to us managing ideas and producers efficiently.
• Managing expenses for the team heads.
• Managing internal and external production meetings and the day to day running of the diaries of the heads of factual/L&E, which involves liaising with multiple parties, requires diplomacy, tact, flexibility, discretion and organization and can be busy and consuming.
• Be familiar and competent with social media platforms, and trends.
Requirements
• Strong communicator with organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrable skills for basic editing, Powerpoint/Keynote, Excel, databases, social media.
• Some demonstratable experience working in a production capacity on unscripted content.
• Creative writing skills and can demonstrate experience of creating engaging and visual presentations.
• A can do and flexible attitude and be happy to work across a broad team.
• Be open minded, flexible, willing to work to deadlines, diplomatic with a passionate for content creation.
• Be fully engaged with Discovery's Channel Brands and Platforms and committed to developing a career in unscripted television.
