Job Description
The role of the photo producer is to support the teams with their picture requirements, in-line with key programme priorities. The producer will work as part of the Photo Operations team to commission, source and select images, whilst responding to stakeholder image needs to enhance press coverage, and marketing campaigns
Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating and producing for still photo shoots
• Oversee all aspects of photo production including; information gathering, shot lists, schedules, budgets, contracts and delivery specs
• Manage contracts, budgets, invoices and payments
• Responsible for production and post-production schedules regarding all photo shoots and assets delivery
• Communicate technical & delivery specs to photographers, digital technicians, production companies, etc.
• Provide production support to FN Photography Director & HGTV Photo Manager
• Coordinate photo delivery process between production companies and Discovery's Producer Portal
• Liaison with Programming and Legal departments to ensure all assets are accounted for
• Communicate updated photo guidelines to production companies
• Occasional hands-on production is required for photo retouching, marking-up, cropping, color-correction
• Provide editing support to Photo Editors when needed
• Maintain relationships with vendors, photographers, agencies, digital technicians and retouchers
• Responsible for delivering still photos to internal brand departments via approved delivery methods
Requirements
• BFA in Photography or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Photo Directing/Editing/DAM field, preferably within a TV network or Entertainment Industry
• Excellent grasp of great visual communication and the ability to stretch creatively with each new project, while keeping in mind company objectives and strategic goals
• Passion for great photography and design
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation and with clients, working under pressure, and juggling multiple and complex projects
• Extensive knowledge of all current graphic software including Adobe CC Suite
• Extensive knowledge of photography production and equipment
• Extensive knowledge in file specs and sizes in both Digital and Non-Digital asset (Negatives, Slides and Transparencies)
• Strong knowledge of photo production, retouching and digital workflow
• Understanding in Federal copyright laws, usage licenses and embargo
