Our Team
The Network Operations & Integrated Content team is uniquely positioned to work cross-functionally with most teams in the company. This opportunity allows for a broad understanding of how a network operates and the many facets of the business.
The Role
The Specialist position can be based in either Los Angeles or New York City and will report to the Manager of Network Operations & Integrated Content based in Los Angeles. This position will remain remote until at least September 1, 2021 due to the company's ongoing response to the global pandemic.
This person will support the Vice President and Manager and act as a liaison between Discovery Factual and various corporate teams (Ad Sales, International, Licensing, etc.) to build and maintain relationships and support business initiatives. This position calls for a candidate who is creative, organized and can think on their feet as the team works within tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Support the Network Operations & Integrated content team on day to day basis across many areas of work.
• Work with the Manager to respond to ad sales RFP requests across all three networks (Discovery, Animal Planet and Science).
• Aid in brainstorming integration/product placement ideas, developing a deep understanding and knowledge of our shows and opportunities.
• Assist in the gathering, organization and creative vision/development of materials for Network and external presentations.
• Update internal asset management documents on a regular basis.
• Support and lead cross functional meetings.
• Work on ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Function as an administrative liaison to departmental staff, network teams and supporting groups.
• Perform other administrative and related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
• Bachelor's degree with a focus in communications, marketing, advertising, general business or media-related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years experience working in television or entertainment industry.
• Ability to contribute and thrive in a high-energy, high-profile and detail-oriented environment.
• Genuine interest in the media business with curiosity and thirst to learn and grow.
• Excellent administrative, critical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Graphic design expertise and Adobe Creative Suite skills a plus
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) as well as Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets).
• Ability to travel when needed.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
