Job Description
ResponsibilitiesThe Manager – SEC Reporting will assist with the preparation and review of the Company's SEC filings and compliance with SEC reporting regulations.
What you will be doing:
• Assist in the preparation and review of the company's SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, Registration statements, 8-K, Proxy statement, etc.)
• Prepare and review filings and disclosures in compliance with applicable SEC regulations, professional standards and organization policies
• Research and draft new disclosures
• Work directly with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
• Work directly with the external auditors on the annual audit and quarterly reviews
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed
Requirements
What you need to have:
• BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years of experience and a strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, SEC reporting requirements, IFRS, and SOX requirements
• CPA required
• Must have the legal right to work in the US
It's a plus if you have:
• Big 4 public accounting background
• Experience in financial reporting of a SEC registrant
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills with ability to act independently and responsibly
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Workiva, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
Location Information
The SEC Reporting team is located in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are open to considering exceptional candidates from any area where Discovery has a presence, to include Miami, Atlanta, the DC area, and New York City.
