Job Description
OverviewThe Global Content Accounting Manager will be responsible for directly managing the non-standard content accounting duties performed in Content Accounting, many of which involve management estimates and judgment. The Global Content Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director, Global Content Accounting.
Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
• Work with the Director to develop and manage the team within Content Accounting to address complex areas of Content Accounting with a focus on transformation/enhancements of analyses and processes
• Manage processes and analyses for content-related areas of accounting, including preparation and detailed reviews, as needed
• Prepare materials for, and participate in meetings with, senior leadership in accounting, FP&A, network/programming departments, and internal/external auditors
• Support and collaborate with the Director to provide subject matter expertise to internal business partners in all content life cycle areas: GAAP/Accounting guidance, global policies and procedures, and SOX controls
• Assist in the identification of updates and/or improvements, as needed, to processes and/or the control environment that are specific to content accounting
• Coordinating with the Company's global accounting teams around the world
• Supervising individual(s) responsible for corporate content accounting processes and analyses
• Assist internal and external auditors with routine requests
• Making decisions guided by established policies and procedures
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
What you need to have:
• BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience and a strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role
• CPA required
It's a plus if you have:
• Big 4 public accounting background
• Experience in accounting for technical and judgmental areas
• Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues
• Advanced knowledge in working with complex spreadsheets and/or experience in robotics/automation
• Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills
• Experience with SAP, Blackline and BPC/EPM
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Embraces change driven by evolving business initiatives and maintains positivity when time-sensitive milestones shift
• Experience implementing best practices that require significant innovation for improving processes by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
