Overview
Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Manager, Finance will help drive profitability by managing and leading the core FP&A processes for many of the Lifestyle Networks including Food Network, Cooking Channel, HGTV and Magnolia. The Manager, FP&A, is the Finance liaison for all work relating to budgets, forecasts, reporting & analysis for each of the networks.
You will focus on key expense areas for each of the networks including programming content and marketing to improve management of budgets, forecasts, reporting & analysis. The position will work closely with the Global Content Office and analysts in the Center of Excellence to ensure accurate reporting of programming content. You will also develop tools to improve decision making, business planning and cost management in order to maximize shareholder value.
This role reports directly to the VP, Finance but also liaisons with the FP&A team across USN and partners with the network team leads and network Presidents.
Responsibilities
Reporting & Analysis
• Manage the process for the annual budget, monthly forecasting, and monthly reporting & analysis for each of the assigned Lifestyle networks
• Work with network FP&A teams to improve process and consistency
• Prepare statements and related analysis for JV reporting and partnership meetings
• Coordinate with the GBO on content analysis, key metrics, cash projections and consolidation reporting
Core FP&A
• Manage annual budget and monthly forecast process for networks: build, advise and communicate
• Provide analytical support for the reporting/forecast process
• Identify process improvements
• Develop analytical framework to test and critique budget/forecast submissions
• Identify key metrics and drivers of spending, and understand strategic plans surrounding the improvement of operating results
• Identify risks & opportunities by understanding the trends and analysing variances in the reporting
• Prepare presentations of forecasts and budget to FP&A management
• Support accounting month end process through accruals, reclasses and prepaids
• Provide financial support for business analysis and analytical projects
• Prepare ROI analysis for content for the execution of the financial greenlight process
• Manage and coordinate communication of network information prepared by the analysts in the various Centers of Excellence (COE).
Business Operations Support
• Lead FP&A team as a true partner to the business
• Support the business and senior management in all financial projects. Examples of work:
• Analyze key drivers of content costs, track spend by top production companies
• Manage program commitments and impacts to current and future years
Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive financial management experience.
• Bachelors degree in finance or accounting.
• Proven leadership success in dynamic fast paced environment with multiple constituents.
• Media experience preferred.
• Experience in transactional environment.
• Possess superior communication and customer service skills.
• Strong work ethic with high integrity.
