Junior Legal Manager (Events)
Overview

The Legal Department of Eurosport wishes to hire a junior legal counsel for negotiation and drafting agreements in the audio-visual and media area, within the hospitality/events domain, for activities related to sportive events, especially motorsport (organization of championships).

Responsibilities

Your main mission would involve documenting and advising upon all aspects of the legal affairs affecting the business, and management of legal issues including:
• Contracts: drafting / advising on various agreements particularly promoter contracts, sponsorship, advertising, IP licensing, media sublicensing, supplier agreements, access and accreditation, etc…, and associate strategic advice where appropriate

• Monitoring: following regulatory developments of French, English and European rules, in the audio-visual and IP areas

• Marketing/Sales: assisting with the review and approval of sales, communication and marketing material in accordance with local regulatory requirements

• Intellectual Property: assisting with the management, brand protection, licensing and enforcement of related intellectual property, in relation with Eurosport Events portfolio

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with the norms of the group in all process before entering into negotiations and agreements

• Any other legal mission: often urgent

Requirements
• Fluent English and French (oral and written, including at legal drafting level)

• Strong experience gained in contracts and IP law, in a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house legal department of an industry-relevant company (national sporting federation, sporting events / rights management company, media group etc...)

• Experience in the event industry highly recommended (ticketing, insurance, ethic and compliance)

• Experience in drafting a wide variety of contracts including supplier agreements, sponsorship, sublicensing

• Provide expert, credible, practical, succinct, timely, solutions-oriented legal advice on a broad range of corporate and legal issues

• Ability to assess, communicate and manage / reduce risk effectively

• Experience in working on multi-jurisdictional contracts, in particular the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to provide services to multi-national external clients

• Deliver decisive, commercially pragmatic, customer-service focused attitude to legal matters

• Ability to balance technical and detailed subject matter/issues with an appreciation for commercial reality, and wider organization strategy

• Interest in sport industry and media
