The Role

This is a senior leader role responsible for developing the strategy and managing the execution of local productions across the ​free-to-air, pay and digital ​portfolio of channels in Australia & New Zealand markets and increasing audience engagement to achieve ratings growth and revenue growth. We're looking for someone with a pro-active approach and exceptional understanding of the local and international audience. This role is responsible for identifying local production opportunities and driving audience and revenue growth across the ANZ Portfolio. You will also be tasked with the development of formats that can be produced in ANZ and distributed globally.

Responsibilities
• Develop a production slate across Australia & NZ of locally produced content that can work on free-to-air, pay TV and D2C

• Develop ideas for new productions which can be produced in Australia or NZ, but work on Discovery's linear or D2C networks internationally

• Manage Discovery's Production budget for Australia & NZ & identify ways of improving Discovery ANZ competitive edge in production

• Collaborate with the Head of Programming on production ideas and concepts to ensure productions fit with the overall programming strategy

• Work closely with the global Production Management team

• Build strong relationships with the production communities in Australia & NZ, making Discovery a desirable broadcast partner

• Develop strong relationships with Screen Funding bodies in Australia & NZ (e.g. NZ On-Air, Screen Australia, etc)

• Create innovative production funding plans for local productions, accessing screen funding and internal funding

• Develop strong relationships with other production heads across Discovery in APAC, EMEA & the US

• Manage external production companies and internal productions from the NZ studios

• Manage executive producers across entertainment formats
