Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Director to grow the e-commerce business for well-loved brands like Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, and more.
Our ideal candidate will be a natural collaborator who has great business judgment, a deep understanding of digital media, strong analytical skills, and experience managing affiliate commerce for a publisher. This person has experience structuring and negotiating business deals, collaborating with Ad Sales on commerce strategy and solutions, executing partnership activations across teams, and analyzing results to optimize strategy and tactics. We're looking for someone with great communication skills who can create reports and presentations for executive stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional and diverse teams. You'll help us take our commerce program to the next level, positioning our brands as leaders among publishers in the commerce space.

Responsibilities
• Manage and grow a network of affiliate commerce partners, with ongoing optimization for premium deal terms.

• Research and recommend new opportunities to grow commerce revenue via partnerships, supported by business cases and financial models.

• Structure, negotiate, and close business deals with commerce partners that optimize revenue and deliver value to our partners.

• Ensure operational alignment across teams to execute on commerce partnerships (pre and post sale), including close collaboration with the editorial team to keep abreast of content strategies and roadmap.

• Collaborate closely with the Ad Sales team to create new opportunities for key partners, and evolve our commerce advertising solutions to deliver against client KPIs.

• Work with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, analytics, editorial, legal, social media, brand licensing, ad sales and others to ensure strategic and operational alignment and revenue optimization.

• Network and develop industry relationships and keep abreast of the affiliate marketing industry to stay ahead of trends.

• Provide monthly revenue reporting in conjunction with Finance.

Requirements
• 6+ years of business development or strategic partnerships experience in digital media

• Subject matter expert in affiliate marketing/commerce

• Demonstrated ability to structure, negotiate, and execute marketing partnerships agreements

• Comfortable working with clients and giving presentations to external partners and executives

• Collaborative working style, with experience working in a matrixed organization

• Problem solving skills, with an interest in analyzing data to gather learnings

• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
